❝AGAIN❞

So, I was chatting with Alison just a while ago, and she was complaining about her sister finding as essay on 'The world in the view of a raindrop' (or something like that) boring. To be frank, I found it a bit amazing as well, so I whipped up a little essay, entitled 'The Rant of a Raindrop'. Enjoy :D

The Rant of a Raindrop

I am a molecule, made up of two elements: one Oxygen atom, and two Hydrogen atoms. When I free-fall past someone’s face, I see only the annoyance of some; impassiveness on faces of others. Am I to spend my eternal condemnation as a raindrop, speeding past the mortals’ faces, only to view their hatred and ignorance for me?

When I land, I group together with other raindrops as we discuss about how we are ill-treated, unable to take out our anger on anything, unable to express our anger in any other way. Then, horror! Young mortals use their muddy boots to kick at us, splash in us, and watch in sadistic delight as we cry out in pain collectively, laughing at the cries! And the onlookers! They stand and smile happily at their vicious offspring, happy and safe in the knowledge that their young are taking after them. Ah, where has justice been banished to?

The mortals claim to do the right things, but they would stand there and smile in contempt at us as we are bruised, yet again, by their children. Do they not realise that we are the ones who provide them with their water? Do they not realise they owe their life to us? If we do not fall from the heavens, if we choose to go on strike one day, they will be the ones to suffer the consequences! They will shake their fists, curse at us, wondering what they did wrong that no water will fall from above. Beg us to return, still not realizing their mistake. Time and time again, drought after drought, we forgive, but never forgetting, allowing ourselves to fall once again. But mortals do not learn! They continue doing what they did before, ignoring once again our pleas for help. No, justice will not be served. It is up to us, for us to decide what our fate will be.

HAHAHA. Poor raindrops. I shall smile at them from now onward :D
