❝AGAIN❞

Today, we went to the Queenstown Multi-Service Centre for the Elderly. The smell there was some kind of a sickly sweet smell, but I still got used to it... how I did, I don't know. Anyways, we were supposed to do some reflection thing, for today and here's some crap that I managed to spin out (the bracketed parts are what I wanted to add but didn't, in the end).

Week 9 reflection: First day at Queenstown Multi-Service Centre for the Elderly

We were supposed to meet in school at 8.15 today, so when I went in at 8.10 today, I was truly shocked when the security guard tried to book me for being late. (I was like, 'I'm a Sec2, this is when I'm supposed to come, you stupid person!') The teacher had to stop him from booking me. When it was 8.15, we went to the bus stop just outside school, and boarded the bus to Queenstown. Unfortunately we missed the bus stop (actually it's Mr. Chew's fault, I should sue him for intentional harm to my feet) so we had to walk longer, and my feet were very sore after that. When we got there, we were introduced to Mr. Michael Koh, the manager, who insisted we called him Michael. He showed us around the place and revealed a short-cut to us. Next, we went to go help the people get off the bus, and since I was Hainanese, I was pushed forwards by my (overly helpful and nice) friends to help an elderly Hainanese lady off the bus and into the centre. The elderly lady was very playful and she kept using her walking stick to poke her friend, and it seemed like she didn’t need it to walk! (she was so cute!) Next, three of us were brought along to view the garden by a nice elderly man. He seemed very afraid of getting bitten by ants, and for some reason, not afraid of getting stung by the bees. I was the exact opposite. When we went back in, we played a few games with the man until it was tea-break for them. After we served them their food, we went into the room where our bags were in and ate our food. (And we ate the jelly that Bella bought because she bought 2 packets and the elderly couldn't eat them after all... so we finished one packet:) ) Some of us stayed inside while the elderly did Qi Gong after their meal. We were taught to fold paper planes, so that we could teach the elderly after their Qi Gong exercise. After we had taught them, we weren’t sure what to do when suddenly people started to sing karaoke (Mr. Chew's singing was... to say the least, horrible). Half-way through the session, the elderly gentlemen whom we had been brought around the complex by, and whom we taught to teach how to fold the paper airplane, threw his airplane at a nurse and pretended to be innocent when she looked around. She stared at Alison a bit, and then handed the paper plane to her. Alison returned the plane to the elderly gentleman who proceeded with some delight to throw it at the same nurse again. (Go,old man!) This time, though, she knew who it was and hit him lightly on the knee. I realised then that elderly people could actually be very playful and cheerful if they wanted to. Also, they all seemed very glad that we were here, and even though I was very tired on the way home, I look forward to CIP the next day. (As if! The only thing I like was the air-conditioned room, thanks.)

Then while we were in the air-con room, we discovered that Alison had never been to anywhere in Singapore except for Lot1! So we went to Ikea instead. I proceeded to blow $10.80 on my lunch, which was uber-expensive. EVIL EVIL IKEA. And Elaine went to prove the point by knocking over a box of wine glasses over with her bag. If Ikea wasn't evil, why would they put the glasses there for people to knock down? Then I went home by the long way... When I got home I was praised by my mum because I apparently informed her of my whereabouts when we changed our venue from Orchard-where Alison has never heard of Taka before- to Ikea at our school. The only reason why I told her was because Elaine was like,'Did you tell your parents that we are here? What if the teacher call then they don't know we are here, then we'll be in even more trouble right?' then later she said she was just joking -.- Anyways, thanks, Elaine. Ehh I shall stop here to look for a blogskin and get a tagboard...
